Validates invoices received from various Oil & Gas suppliers if prices, quantity and product billed were accurate and in accordance with the purchase agreement, and communicates to supplier any discrepancies thereof. Ensures accurate posting of invoices and release of payment on the due date.
Computes prices based on pricing formula in purchase agreement set up in Inventory optimizer (IO) with the use of SQIRT to pull prices officially posted by independent companies like Platts and OPIS.
Communicate purchase contract disputes to Shell Traders & Trader Analyst to clarify disputes and make necessary revisions to contract if needed, like pricing formula, period, product set-up, plant, mode of transportation and payment provisions.
Investigates variances between product and quantity billed versus booked in SAP and communicate discrepancies to stock accountants for them to make necessary corrections or to provide supporting documentations to prove validity of transactions booked.

Position Title: Tax Analyst – US Sales and Use Tax
Duration: May 2007 to May 2009

Duties &Responsibilities
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns and reconcile related payments to tax accruals
Set up some returns manually and prepare others using Return Preparation Software
Enter tax payments into computer systems to ensure timely payment of sales and use taxes
Perform heavy analysis and validation of transactional tax data (including the resolution of discrepancies)
Advise/support the Accounting group in the reconciliation of Sales and Use Tax accounts
